Weight Loss Motivation and Support

The distance between who I am and who I want to be is only separated by what I do!”

How is it possible? What is the secret? What did they do to lose all that weight?

These are some of the most common questions out there today when it comes to weight loss. We hear them all the time or have asked them ourselves in hopes that we, too, would join the weight loss success stories. However, what we quickly discover is that it is not easy to diet and lose weight; if it was, we would all be skinny, but that is just not the way it is. For this reason, I believe that Weight loss motivation and support are so important if you want to be successful in achieving your weight loss goals.

How much is your weight loss worth to you?

If you are asked, “How much is your weight loss worth to you?” what would the answer be? If I said, “I can remove your weight for ten dollars a pound.” would you pay it? In order to set the goal of weight loss, you first need to put a value on that goal. Figure out how much weight you would like to lose and commit to whatever it is going to take to achieve it.

Weight Loss is a Common Subject

Weight loss is one of the most common subjects out there today and can also be one of the most frustrating tasks. Let’s face it…we don’t want to be hungry, and neither does our body. Our body wants to hold on to extra weight for survival purposes, and when we start to diet oftentimes we will reach a point when our body starts to fight back.

However, because of our knowledge today, there is some good news about losing weight…it can (and should) be done without starving yourself. We now know that a good program of exercise and proper nutrition will not only help you to lose all your unwanted body fat but will also promote good health and longer life.

We All Want To Lose Weight Quickly

“The Struggle You Are In Today Is Developing The Strength You Need for Tomorrow.” Unknown

It’s natural for anyone trying to lose weight to want to lose it very quickly. But evidence shows that people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a “diet” or “program.” It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits.

Once you’ve achieved a healthy weight, by relying on healthful eating and physical activity most days of the week (about 60—90 minutes, moderate intensity), you are more likely to be successful at keeping the weight off over the long term.

Staying Motivated To Lose Weight

“Sometimes people can feel unmotivated because they lose sight of why they’re making changes in the first place,” says Edwina Clark, R.D., head of nutrition and wellness at Yummly. It is very important when you set the weight loss goal that you know the reason and do not lose sight of it. This reason is your motivation to keep you moving forwards toward achieving your goal. This is your mission statement, and it will help you stay focused during the harder times when you feel like giving up.
